Bleach manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize the active chlorine content, typically ranging from 5% to 15% for liquid sodium hypochlorite and 65% to 70% for calcium hypochlorite (bleaching powder). It is essential to verify the pH levels (usually alkaline, pH >11) and the stability rate, as bleach decomposes over time when exposed to light and heat. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch to confirm chemical purity and the absence of heavy metal contaminants.

As a hazardous chemical, bleach must comply with the GHS (Globally Harmonized System) for labeling and packaging. Suppliers should provide a valid MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet). For specific applications, look for ISO 9001 for quality management, and if used for water treatment, ensure it meets NSF/ANSI Standard 60. For European markets, REACH registration is mandatory, while US markets may require EPA registration depending on the product's intended use as a disinfectant.

Bleach is highly corrosive; therefore, packaging must be UN-certified and made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or specialized lined containers. For liquid bleach, ensure containers have vented caps to prevent pressure buildup from oxygen release. Storage guidance must specify cool, dry, and well-ventilated areas away from direct sunlight and incompatible materials like acids or organic compounds to prevent dangerous chemical reactions.

Bleach is classified under Class 8 (Corrosive Substances) of the IMDG Code. You must work with freight forwarders experienced in Dangerous Goods (DG) handling. Shipping costs are significantly higher due to DG surcharges, and you must ensure the port of discharge accepts the specific UN number (e.g., UN 1791 for liquid, UN 1748 for solid). Always confirm the lead time, as DG shipments often face stricter customs inspections and longer booking windows.

Utilize Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading Service to protect your payments until the goods are shipped. Before placing a large order, conduct a factory audit or hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). This inspection should verify the concentration levels and packaging integrity to avoid receiving sub-standard or leaking products that could lead to environmental fines.

Chemical prices are highly sensitive to raw material costs (chlor-alkali industry trends) and energy prices. Negotiate based on volume-based pricing tiers; for example, ordering a full container load (FCL) can reduce unit costs by 15-20% compared to LCL. Discuss long-term supply contracts to hedge against price volatility, and always clarify if the quoted price is FOB (Free On Board) or CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight), as insurance is critical for hazardous materials.
