Borosilicate glass teapots manufacturers

When sourcing, prioritize High Borosilicate Glass 3.3, which offers superior thermal shock resistance (withstanding temperature changes from -20°C to 150°C). Ensure the glass thickness is between 2mm and 3.5mm to balance durability with aesthetic clarity. For the infuser, specify Food-Grade 304 or 316 Stainless Steel to prevent rust and metallic aftertaste.

For the US market, products must pass FDA (Food and Drug Administration) food contact safety tests. For the EU, compliance with LFGB (Lebensmittel- und Futtermittelgesetzbuch) and Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 is essential. Ensure the supplier provides Lead and Cadmium-free certification to meet global health safety requirements.

Focus on the spout design to ensure a non-drip pour and the ergonomics of the handle, which should remain cool to the touch. Check for hand-blown vs. machine-made quality; hand-blown teapots often feature more intricate shapes but require stricter QC for wall thickness uniformity. Verify if the lid stays secure at a 90-degree pouring angle.

Most professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer logo silk-printing or laser engraving on the glass or infuser. You can also request customized color boxes with protective EPE foam inserts. For high-volume orders, consider bespoke glass molds to create unique brand-specific shapes.

Glassware is high-risk; insist on 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual bubble wrap or molded pulp packaging. Request a Drop Test Report (ISTA 1A or 2A) from the supplier. It is highly recommended to purchase Marine Cargo Insurance and negotiate a 1-3% breakage allowance or replacement clause in the contract.

Focus on Total Volume Commitment rather than single-order price. Ask for a tiered pricing structure based on quantity. If the price is firm, negotiate for lower MOQs on customized packaging or a shorter lead time (typically 25-35 days). Always verify the supplier's Audit Report on Made-in-China.com to ensure they are a genuine manufacturer, not a middleman.

Use Secured Payment services provided by reputable B2B platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Conduct a Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) through a third-party agency (like SGS or Intertek) to verify that the annealing process was done correctly, preventing spontaneous glass shattering.

Due to the high volume-to-weight ratio, Sea Freight (FCL or LCL) is the most economical for bulk orders. For smaller trial batches, Sea-Air combined transport offers a balance of speed and cost. Ensure the HS Code (typically 7013.37) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays and to benefit from applicable trade agreements.
