Stainless steel serving dish manufacturers

For food contact, you must prioritize 304 (18/8) or 316 grade stainless steel. These grades offer superior corrosion resistance and durability. Avoid 201 grade for high-end or long-term food service as it is more prone to rusting when exposed to acidic foods or frequent washing.

Ensure the products meet FDA (USA) or LFGB (Germany/EU) standards for food contact materials. Suppliers should provide Migration Test Reports to prove that no harmful heavy metals (like lead or cadmium) leach into the food.

Look for mirror polishing for a high-end look or satin/brushed finishes to hide fingerprints and scratches. Check for rolled edges to ensure there are no sharp burrs, and verify if the dish is double-walled if heat retention or condensation prevention is a requirement.

Request the thickness specification (typically 0.5mm to 1.0mm); thicker steel prevents warping under heat. For B2B buyers in the catering industry, ensure the design is tapered for easy stackability to optimize storage space and reduce shipping volume.

Always request a Material Mill Test Certificate (MTC). For large orders, hire a third-party inspection agency to perform a PMI (Positive Material Identification) test using an XRF analyzer before the balance payment is made to ensure the steel is truly Grade 304.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume. Ask for a sample fee deduction from the first bulk order. Clearly define Incoterms (e.g., FOB or CIF) in the contract to avoid hidden logistics costs, and use Secured Trading Services to protect your payment until shipping documents are verified.

Stainless steel is prone to surface scratching. Insist on individual polybags or tissue paper wrapping for each dish. For bulk shipments, use 5-layer corrugated export cartons with reinforced corner protectors to prevent denting during transit.

Verify the HS Code (typically 7323.93) with your local customs broker. Be aware of anti-dumping duties that some regions (like the EU or USA) may impose on specific steel products from certain origins. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin to potentially qualify for preferential tariff rates.
