Card access control manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize RFID frequency compatibility (125KHz for legacy systems or 13.56MHz Mifare/DESFire for high security). Ensure the controller supports Wiegand 26/34 or OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol) for communication between readers and panels. Additionally, verify the user capacity (e.g., 2,000 to 100,000 users) and event log storage to match the scale of the facility.

For the US market, look for UL 294 (Standard for Access Control System Units) and FCC Part 15. For the EU, CE marking and EN 50133 are essential. If the device is installed outdoors, an IP65 or IP66 waterproof rating and an IK10 vandal-proof rating are critical to ensure hardware longevity and safety.

Avoid standard 125KHz Proximity cards as they are easily cloned. Instead, opt for encrypted smart cards such as Mifare DESFire EV2/3 or HID iCLASS. These utilize AES-128 bit encryption, making it significantly harder for unauthorized parties to duplicate credentials.

A robust system should provide SDK/API access for integration with third-party software like CCTV (VMS), Fire Alarm Systems, and Time & Attendance software. Look for hardware that supports TCP/IP or PoE (Power over Ethernet) to simplify wiring and enable remote management via a centralized dashboard.

Always request a sample unit for rigorous testing before placing a bulk order. Use the sample to check for PCB soldering quality and software stability. On Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone third-party on-site inspections by SGS or TÜV Rheinland to verify their manufacturing capabilities.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Ask for tiered pricing (e.g., discounts at 100, 500, and 1,000 units) and inquire about OEM/ODM services such as logo silk-printing or custom firmware. Ensure the contract includes a 1-2 year warranty and clear terms for RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) processes.

Access control kits often include electromagnetic locks. These are heavy and contain magnetic fields, which may require a Magnetic Inspection Report for air freight. For large orders, Sea Freight (FOB) is more cost-effective. Ensure the supplier provides the correct HS Code (typically 8543.70) to avoid delays during customs clearance and ensure accurate duty calculations.

Utilize Secured Trading Services offered by platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payment. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts; always pay to the verified corporate account listed on the platform. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the technical specifications, lead time, and packaging requirements to serve as legal recourse in case of disputes.
