Ceramic tea set price manufacturers

When sourcing ceramic tea sets, prioritize Bone China (containing at least 40% bone ash for translucency) or High-Temperature Porcelain (fired at 1300°C+). Ensure the products are lead-free and cadmium-free, especially for glazed items, to meet FDA (US) or LFGB (EU) food-grade safety standards. Check for thermal shock resistance to ensure the ceramic can withstand sudden temperature changes without cracking.

The price is heavily influenced by the decoration method. Underglaze colors are the safest and most durable as the pattern is protected by the glaze. In-glaze offers a high-end finish, while overglaze (especially with gold tracing) requires careful inspection for wear resistance. Hand-painted sets command a premium price compared to decal-printed versions. For B2B buyers, kiln-transmutation glazes offer unique, one-of-a-kind aesthetics that can justify higher retail margins.

Focus on the spout design for a smooth, drip-free pour and the filter density (built-in holes or stainless steel mesh). For hospitality or office use, verify dishwasher and microwave safety. Ensure the lid fit has a tolerance of less than 1mm to prevent heat loss and accidental slipping during pouring. Ergonomic handle design is also critical to prevent burns and ensure user comfort.

Analyze the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by factoring in the breakage rate during shipping. Low-cost sets often use thinner packaging, leading to higher losses. Compare MOQ tiers; often, increasing an order from 500 to 1,000 units can reduce the unit price by 15-25%. For promotional gifts, custom logo integration (silk screen vs. laser engraving) should be budgeted at approximately $0.20-$0.50 per unit depending on complexity.

The biggest risk is logistics breakage. You must mandate 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual foam/bubble wrap packaging for each piece. Request a drop test report (ISTA 1A or 3A) before shipment. Another risk is color inconsistency between batches; always request a pre-production sample (PPS) and use it as the gold standard for third-party pre-shipment inspections.

Focus on mold fees and customization costs. If you are ordering a standard shape with a custom logo, negotiate to have the mold fee waived if the order exceeds a certain volume (e.g., 2,000 sets). Use Made-in-China.com's Diamond Members or Audited Suppliers to ensure you are dealing with a factory rather than a small trading company, which can lead to 10-15% direct savings.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD); for example, the EU has historically applied ADD on Chinese ceramic tableware. Verify the HS Code (typically 6911.10) with your customs broker to calculate accurate import duties and VAT before finalizing the purchase.

For bulk orders, Sea Freight (FCL - Full Container Load) is the safest as it minimizes manual handling. If using LCL (Less than Container Load), insist on palletization with shrink wrap to prevent shifting. For high-value or urgent samples, Air Freight with 'Fragile' labeling is necessary, but ensure the supplier uses double-boxing to withstand the rigors of air transit hubs.
