Diary manufacturers

When selecting diaries, the paper weight (GSM) is the most critical factor; for B2B orders, a minimum of 80-100 GSM is recommended to prevent ink bleeding. You should also specify the binding method, such as thread sewing (lay-flat binding) for durability or spiral binding for flexibility. For covers, options range from PU leather (synthetic), which is cost-effective and durable, to genuine leather for premium corporate gifting.

Ensure the supplier provides FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification to guarantee the paper is sourced from responsibly managed forests. For the covers and dyes, verify compliance with REACH or RoHS standards to ensure the absence of harmful chemicals like lead or phthalates, especially if the diaries are intended for the European or North American markets.

Professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com usually offer debossing, embossing, or foil stamping for brand logos. You can also request custom inner page layouts (dotted, lined, or grid), integrated ribbon bookmarks, elastic closures, and expandable inner pockets. For high-end clients, gilded edges and customized gift boxes are common value-added features.

The Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) for customized diaries generally ranges from 500 to 1,000 units. Standard production lead times are 15–25 days after sample approval. It is highly recommended to request a pre-production sample (usually costing $50-$100) to verify the color accuracy and paper texture before authorizing mass production.

Paper products are highly sensitive to humidity and physical impact. You must insist on moisture-proof packaging, such as individual OPP bag sealing for each diary and the use of 5-layer corrugated export cartons. Ensure the pallets are shrink-wrapped to prevent water damage during sea freight.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for tiered pricing where the unit cost drops by 10-15% as volume increases. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure that payment is only released to the supplier once the shipping documents are verified and the quality meets your standards.

Before sharing proprietary artwork or brand guidelines, ensure the supplier signs a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Clearly state in the contract that all molds, plates, and design files remain the property of the buyer and cannot be used for other clients or displayed in the supplier's public showroom without permission.

Due to the high weight-to-volume ratio of paper, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical choice for orders over 200kg. For urgent corporate events, Air Freight is faster but can cost 3-5 times more. Always clarify the Incoterms (e.g., FOB vs. DDP) to understand who is responsible for customs clearance and local duties in the destination country.
