Enamel container manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize high-quality carbon steel or cast iron as the base metal, typically with a thickness of 0.5mm to 0.8mm for standard kitchenware to ensure durability and heat distribution. The enamel coating must be acid and alkali resistant, non-porous, and free from heavy metals like lead and cadmium. Ensure the supplier uses electrostatic spraying or wet enamel dipping processes to achieve a smooth, chip-resistant finish.

Since enamel containers are food-contact materials, they must meet strict safety regulations. For the US market, compliance with FDA 21 CFR 175.300 and California Proposition 65 is essential. For the EU, products must adhere to Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 and LFGB (Germany) standards. Always request SGS or TUV laboratory test reports specifically for leachable lead and cadmium levels.

High-performance enamelware should withstand thermal shock tests (e.g., sudden temperature changes from 200°C to 20°C without cracking). Check for impact resistance to ensure the coating does not easily flake off under mechanical stress. For containers intended for induction cooktops, verify that the base metal is ferromagnetic and the bottom is perfectly flat to ensure energy efficiency and stability.

Professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com usually offer OEM/ODM services, including custom decal printing (silk screen or heat transfer), specific Pantone color matching, and various lid materials such as bamboo, silicone, or airtight plastic. For branding, look for suppliers who can provide customized color box packaging and laser-engraved logos on the base of the container.

Enamel is prone to chipping if handled roughly. Require the supplier to use 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual bubble wrap or EPE foam inserts for each unit. For LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, insist on palletization with plastic wrap to prevent crushing. It is highly recommended to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify packaging integrity.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume; for example, aim for a 10-15% discount when moving from 500 to 2,000 units. Negotiate payment terms such as 30% deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading (B/L). Always clarify the defect rate allowance (usually 1-2%) and secure a commitment for free replacements in the next shipment for any items damaged due to manufacturing flaws.

Utilize the Secured Trading Service on Made-in-China.com to protect your payments. Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone third-party onsite verification by agencies like SGS, Bureau Veritas, or Intertek. Check the supplier's Business License and Export License to ensure they are a legitimate manufacturer rather than a small trading intermediary.

Identify the correct HS Code (typically 7323.94) to calculate import duties accurately. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties that some regions (like the EU or USA) may impose on specific Chinese steel products. Work with a freight forwarder experienced in DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) or CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) terms to streamline the customs clearance process in your destination country.
