Flat machine manufacturers

When sourcing a flat machine, you must prioritize the Gauge (G), which determines the needle density and fabric thickness (e.g., 12G or 14G for standard knitwear). Ensure the machine features a high-performance carriage with a stable needle selection system (such as electromagnetic selection). Additionally, verify the knitting width (typically 52, 60, or 80 inches) to match your production requirements, and check if it supports multi-color intarsia or complex jacquard patterns.

Focus on the needle bed material; high-quality machines use laser-treated, high-frequency quenched steel to prevent wear. The sinker system should be adjustable to handle different yarn tensions. Request data on the carriage speed (ideally reaching 1.2m/s to 1.6m/s) and the positioning accuracy of the servo motors, as these directly impact the consistency of the finished garment.

The machine should be compatible with industry-standard CAD pattern design software (like PDS or Hengqiang). Look for systems that support USB or LAN data transmission for quick pattern updates. For large-scale operations, ensure the controller supports ERP integration to monitor real-time production efficiency, error logs, and output counts across the factory floor.

For the European market, the machine must carry the CE Marking, indicating compliance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and Low Voltage Directive. For North America, look for UL or CSA certification regarding electrical components. Ensure the machine includes emergency stop buttons, protective shields with sensors, and noise level certifications (typically below 75dB) to meet occupational safety standards.

Always arrange for a third-party pre-shipment inspection (PSI). The inspector should perform a running test of at least 4-8 hours to check for overheating or mechanical noise. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure payment is only released after the bill of lading is verified and the inspection report is approved.

Do not just negotiate on the unit price; negotiate for spare parts packages (needles, sinkers, and sensors) which are high-wear items. Demand a minimum 12-24 month warranty on the main control board and motor. For bulk orders, request on-site installation and technician training to be included in the total contract value.

Flat machines are precision instruments and must be shipped in vacuum-sealed plastic packaging with desiccant silica gel to prevent rust during sea transit. Ensure the supplier uses solid wooden crates (IPPC fumigated) and secures the machine with internal bracing to prevent shifting. Specify FOB or CIF terms clearly to define where the risk transfers during the shipping process.

Confirm if the supplier provides remote technical support via video call or has local service centers in your region. Ensure they provide a detailed English-language operation manual and a troubleshooting circuit diagram. Ask for a guaranteed response time of under 24 hours for technical queries to minimize production downtime.
