Large safety pin manufacturers

When sourcing large safety pins for heavy-duty or industrial use, prioritize Nickel-Plated Steel or Stainless Steel (304 or 316 grade). Stainless steel is essential for applications involving moisture to prevent corrosion and rust. Ensure the wire diameter is at least 1.5mm to 2.0mm for heavy-duty tasks to prevent bending under tension. For aesthetic or branding purposes, look for suppliers offering electroplating in various finishes like antique brass or matte black.

The most critical safety feature is the locking cap (hood). It must be deep enough to fully enclose the sharp point and have a secure tension grip to prevent accidental opening. For high-security needs, look for 'kilt pin' styles or those with a double-locking mechanism. The spring coil should have high fatigue resistance, maintaining its shape and tension after at least 500 open-close cycles.

If the pins are intended for use in garments or consumer goods, they must comply with REACH (EU) or CPSIA (US) regulations, specifically regarding lead and nickel release levels to prevent skin irritation. For medical or laundry applications, ensure the materials are autoclave-safe or resistant to high-temperature chemical washing. Always request a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) from the supplier.

Large safety pins (typically 70mm to 120mm) are widely used in industrial laundry services for bag identification, heavy-duty upholstery, kilts and traditional garments, and marathon bib attachments. For outdoor gear or military applications, choose pins with a non-reflective matte finish and reinforced steel construction to handle thick canvas or webbing.

Request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) focusing on the sharpness of the point and the smoothness of the finish. Burrs or rough edges on the pin body can damage fabrics. Utilize Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure payment is only released after the goods pass quality verification. Ordering a production sample is mandatory to verify the actual wire gauge and spring tension.

Focus on Volume-Based Pricing tiers. For large safety pins, the unit cost drops significantly when moving from 10,000 to 50,000 units. Negotiate for customized packaging (e.g., polybags of 50 vs. bulk cartons) to save on local redistribution costs. Ask for a 'Defective Allowance' (usually 1-2%) where the supplier provides extra units to cover any potential manufacturing flaws.

Large safety pins are heavy and sharp; ensure the supplier uses double-walled corrugated export cartons with a weight limit of 15-20kg per box to prevent bursting. The pins should be packed in inner moisture-proof bags to prevent oxidation during sea freight. For customs, ensure the HS Code (typically 7319.40) is correctly declared to avoid delays or incorrect duty applications.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone third-party onsite inspections by firms like SGS or Intertek. Check the supplier's business license and export permits to ensure they are a legitimate manufacturer rather than a small trading middleman, which ensures better control over the raw material quality.
