Lightweight walker manufacturers

B2B buyers should prioritize High-Grade Aluminum Alloy (6061 or 7005 series), which offers an optimal strength-to-weight ratio. A standard lightweight walker should weigh between 2.5kg to 7kg while supporting a weight capacity of at least 100kg to 136kg (220-300 lbs). Ensure the frame features anodized or powder-coated finishes to prevent corrosion and enhance durability in various climates.

As medical devices, walkers must meet strict regulatory requirements. For the US market, FDA Class I registration is essential. For the EU, compliance with Medical Device Regulation (MDR 2017/745) and CE Marking is mandatory. Additionally, verify that the product meets ISO 11199-2:2005, which specifically governs the safety and testing methods for rollators and walking aids.

For indoor use, non-marring rubber tips or small 5-inch wheels are ideal for maneuverability. For outdoor or 'Rollator' styles, look for 8-inch PVC or PU wheels with shock absorption. Key ergonomic features include height-adjustable handles (typically 5-8 levels), dual-paddle folding mechanisms for easy transport, and contoured PVC or foam grips to reduce hand fatigue for elderly users.

Request Static Load Test reports and Stability Test results from the supplier. The walker should remain stable at a 10-degree incline in all directions. Check for reinforced cross-braces and ensure that all locking mechanisms provide a tactile or audible 'click' to confirm they are securely engaged before use.

Always conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) through third-party agencies like SGS or Intertek. Focus on weld quality, folding smoothness, and load-bearing capacity. For initial orders, utilize Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure payment is only released upon confirmation of product quality and shipping documents.

Focus on long-term scalability rather than just the lowest unit price. Negotiate for a 1-2% spare parts allowance (e.g., extra rubber tips, brake cables, or bolts) included in the FOB price. For bulk orders exceeding 500 units, aim for a 15-20% discount compared to sample pricing, and request customized branding/OEM packaging at no extra cost.

Since walkers are high-volume but low-weight (volumetric weight), Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical method. To reduce shipping costs, choose 'KD' (Knocked Down) packaging where the walker is partially disassembled, significantly increasing the number of units per container. Ensure the supplier uses 5-layer corrugated export cartons to prevent frame bending during transit.

Ensure the supplier provides a Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, and a Certificate of Origin. Specifically for medical aids, you must have the Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and, if applicable, the FDA 510(k) number or registration listing to avoid costly customs delays or seizures.
