Pe bag manufacturers

Choosing the right material is critical for functionality. LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) is known for high clarity and flexibility, making it ideal for food packaging and consumer goods. HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) offers superior strength, a 'crinkly' feel, and better moisture barriers, commonly used for T-shirt bags and heavy-duty liners. LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene) provides excellent puncture resistance and stretch, often used for industrial liners or stretch films where durability is paramount.

For food-grade applications, ensure the supplier provides FDA (US) or EC 1935/2004 (EU) compliance certificates. If you are targeting the European market, REACH and RoHS certifications are essential to ensure the absence of hazardous substances. For eco-friendly initiatives, look for GRS (Global Recycled Standard) if the bags contain recycled content, or EN 13432 if you are sourcing biodegradable alternatives.

You should request the supplier to perform a Tensile Strength Test and a Dart Impact Test to measure durability. For liquid or airtight needs, a Vacuum Leak Test is necessary. Ensure the Side Seal Strength is consistent; a variance of less than 5% in seal width is a sign of high-quality manufacturing. Always request pre-production samples to verify the 'micron' (thickness) matches your specifications using a digital micrometer.

Suppliers on Made-in-China.com typically offer Gravure Printing for high-quality logos (up to 10 colors) and Flexographic Printing for cost-effective bulk runs. Functional customizations include Anti-static (ESD) additives, UV inhibitors for outdoor storage, and Ventilation holes. Ensure you specify the closure type, such as heat seal, slider zip, or self-adhesive tape, based on your end-use scenario.

This is a common industry risk. You must specify the Net Weight per 1,000 bags in the contract. Since thickness can be hard to measure across every bag, total shipment weight is a reliable indicator of whether the supplier used the correct amount of raw material. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to hold payment until third-party inspection confirms the specifications.

Many countries have implemented Single-Use Plastic (SUP) bans or plastic taxes (e.g., the UK Plastic Packaging Tax). Verify if your target country requires a minimum of 30% recycled content to avoid heavy duties. Ensure the Country of Origin (COO) is clearly marked on the outer cartons to prevent customs delays or seizures during import.

PE bags are relatively heavy but can be compressed. Request Vacuum Packaging or High-Compression Baling to reduce the cubic volume (CBM), which lowers freight costs. For large orders, FOB (Free On Board) is recommended so you can nominate your own forwarder to manage the sea freight, providing better control over the Logistics Chain and local port charges.

Price in the PE industry is heavily tied to Raw Material Resin Indices (like Platts or ICIS). Negotiate a Formula-Based Pricing model where the unit price adjusts based on the current market price of polyethylene resin. This protects both parties from extreme market volatility. Additionally, ask for a tiered discount structure where the price drops significantly as you move from a 20ft container to a 40ft HQ container.
