Plastic spice box manufacturers

Since spice boxes are in direct contact with food, you must ensure the material is BPA-free and Food Grade. Look for certifications such as FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) or LFGB (German Food Contact Grade). The most common high-quality materials are PP (Polypropylene) for durability and PS (Polystyrene) or Acrylic for high transparency.

Spices are highly sensitive to humidity. Prioritize designs with silicone sealing rings in the lid and snap-lock mechanisms. For B2B sourcing, request a moisture-proof test report or a video demonstration of the airtightness (e.g., the water-submersion test) to ensure the product prevents clumping of powders.

Look for modular and stackable designs to save kitchen space. Features like integrated spoon slots, one-handed operation buttons, and removable compartments significantly increase the product's market value. For professional kitchens, transparent bodies are preferred for quick identification of contents.

Check the wall thickness (ideally >2mm) to prevent cracking during shipping or accidental drops. If the product is intended for modern kitchens, verify if it is dishwasher safe and can withstand temperature ranges from -20°C to 100°C without warping or releasing odors.

Plastic items are prone to cracking under pressure. You should negotiate for 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual bubble wrap or color box packaging. Ensure the supplier uses palletization for LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments to minimize manual handling damage.

Start by requesting a sample order to verify material clarity and odor. When discussing bulk pricing, leverage tiered MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity); for example, ask for a price break at 1,000, 3,000, and 5,000 units. Mention that you are looking for a long-term strategic partner to secure better after-sales terms.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until delivery. Additionally, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to check for scratches, burrs, and lid fitment before the final balance is paid.

Check the HS Code (typically 3924.10) for plastic kitchenware in your country to determine import duties. Be aware of Anti-Dumping duties or Single-Use Plastic bans in certain regions (like the EU). Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin to help you benefit from preferential tariff rates if applicable.
